Ridwell started as a small father-and-son project and had growth into a nationwide effort that has helped keep over 38 million pounds of material out of landfills—with full transparency about where materials go and that they become.

Joel lives in Shelburne and has worked professionally on sustainability and waste-related issues. He was first introduced to Ridwell while living in Seattle, where he helped the founder and his son pick up materials from neighbors and bring them to responsible local partners.
